Memories of first naturist visits to Rotota
Keith and Julie (Past President and his wife)
We had never been to a naturist club, beach or resort before. New year 2010 we decided to take the plunge. We made contact with the committee and arranged to call in for the day. However, after turning up at a local campsite which was less than pleasant we decided to see if we could stay overnight and put up our tent at Rotota.
With trepidation we turned into the drive. Half way down we were met by a man in a hat, hiking boots wearing a smile and a deep tan. He told us to keep going and we’d find people as we come through the inner gate. Once there we found a group of members to direct us. We asked for Margaret and Lisa and after a loud shout Margaret arrived. “Follow me,” she said and we did, literally. Us in our people carrier following Margaret’s wiggling bottom across the Rotota grounds as she scurried, business-like to Central Park. After a brief chat about etiquette we were left to put up our tent, dressed in sarongs. Within half an hour we were shown around the grounds by Margaret and we were hooked, the sarongs were shed and our pale bodies exposed. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The friends we made in those first few days are still very close. We were interviewed two days later and haven’t looked back.
We are now doing our bit for the club and “doing our time” on committee. We encourage everyone to do their bit too.

Tracy (Prospective member) – first naturist visit Labour Weekend 2014
I was asked to come on holiday with friends of mine who are relatively new members. They reminded me that Rotota was a nudist club. Hmmm, I don’t mind seeing anyone else naked or them me but my friends……Ah well, how bad could it be? So off we ride into the new day, all loaded up and me a little nervous.
Their disrobement was taken a little slower than their norm but at a pace I handled without too much discomfort, mine took a couple of days but hey…..I did it and the sky didn’t fall. There was no pressure by anyone around me and in fact, people were in various states of undress the whole time. Everyone around was friendly and open to someone new among them.
There was organised evening activities including a fancy dress disco….”Fancy Dress” I hear you say in a slightly bewildered voice. I know, right. Had a fantastic night, and just so you know, I wasn’t fully responsible for the liberal covering of fairy dust on the President of the club.
Scenery, mind blowing!!!! I kayaked on the lake – new event for me. This place is awesome, relaxed, friendly and beautiful. I fully recommend this to anyone wanting a memorable, relaxing holiday.
Thank you to my friends who had enough faith in me to bring me away with them and thank you to those at Rotota for being so welcoming into your holiday community. In Arnies famous words “I’ll be back!
Rotota Testimonials
My wife and I visited on the 5-6/1/15. What a gold mine, we were greeted at the gate and the hospitality just got better. The site is amazing and the people so welcoming. We walked the tracks dipped in the lake, hot pool, and waterfall. All the people we met were ready to greet us with a smile and any assistance they could. The way we were welcomed into your place is a credit to the club and its members (a special thanks to the people who made us feel at home in Suncourt). Not sure when but we will come back to paradise.
