Rotota history and development

The history of Rotota is described in detail in Leo’s story. It is a story of hard work, great cameraderie, innovation and fun.  Many hours of labour contributed to the clearing and preparing of the site that has become the grounds we know and love today.

At the outset the land was covered with pine trees and native bush.  Cutting a track into the site was no mean feat and the original club was based around the club rooms at Lakeview and Top End.  Heavy machinery was used to clear and level the land in preparation for the existing site.  The following pictures demonstrate the nature of the work undertaken by those Rotota pioneers / founding fathers.
